Chamomile (Matiricariarecutita L.) is also called Matricaria, which is an annual herb. Chamomile Extract Apigenin is rich in carbohydrates and protein. Chamomile contains more than 120 secondary metabolites, including 36 flavonoids and 28 terpenoids. The content of flavonoids in chamomile is about 0.5%. The main flavonoids are apigenin, luteolin, quercetin and so on. As a kind of herbal medicine, chamomile has good biological activity, and chamomile extract has great value in medicine and cosmetics.
Apigenin from chamomile extract belongs to flavonoids. The chemical structure of apigenin (Apigenin from chamomile extract, AP) is 4,5,7-genistein, which has 3 hydroxyl groups at positions 4, 5, and 7 and one of C2 and C3. The double bond between the two determines its biological activity, such as tumor inhibition, anti-oxidation, antibacterial, prevention of high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis and other cardiovascular diseases.
