Kava is a perennial shrub of the pepper family. In some parts of Africa, the root of Kava and the wine made are collectively called “Kava” (Kava, Kawax). Kava is one of the more popular anxiety herbs and is considered non-addictive or relatively non-toxic to Chemicalbook. In 1995, kava became one of the twenty best-selling herbs in Germany. Kava can cause muscle paralysis, has local anesthetic effect on experimental frogs, and paralyzes the wings of bats and sparrows.
