Midostaurin Powder is an active derivative of indolocarbazole alkaloid-staurosporine isolated from staurosporine culture solution of marine streptomyces in 1977, commonly known in Chinese as 4′-N- Benzamido-staurosporine. Midostaurin is an inhibitor of multiple tyrosine kinase receptors.
The pharmacokinetics of midostaurin powder showed a time-dependent characteristic. In the first week of starting the drug, the plasma trough concentration (Cmin) began to increase, and after about 4 weeks, it reached the highest value of Cmin, and then decreased to a stable level. The active metabolite CGP62221 showed a similar trend; while the other metabolite CGP52421 had the opposite, the plasma drug concentration continued to increase and reached steady state after 4 weeks.
Health Benefits
- Midostaurin is suitable for the treatment of newly diagnosed adult AML patients with gene FLT3 mutation-positive after standard induction therapy combined with cytarabine and daunorubicin and consolidation chemotherapy with cytarabine. Not suitable for single-agent induction therapy in AML patients.
- Midostaurin is suitable for the treatment of adult patients with ASM, SM-AHN and MCL.
- Midostaurin has antiproliferative properties by inhibiting protein kinase C, kinase insertion domain receptors and C-kit.
