White peony root extract is derived from the rhizome of White peony, which is a famous herb of the genus Paeonia in the Paeoniaaceae family. Peony has been cultivated in China for more than 4,900 years, and it is the earliest flower cultivated in China. Peony is a perennial perennial herb. Its main root is fleshy, stout, fusiform and long cylindrical, 0.6-3.5 cm thick, light yellowish brown or grayish purple. Paeonia lactiflora is resistant to cold, and can be overwintered in the open field in the northern provinces. It likes cool climates in summer. - Effects on the central nervous system Paeoniflorin has analgesic and sedative effects. Intraperitoneal injection of mice has a significant analgesic effect, can prolong the sleep time of the sodium hexamethylene barbital in mice, and has an antagonistic effect on the convulsions caused by pentamethyl tetrazolium.
