Parsley (scientific name: Petroselinum crispum (Mill.)) is a plant of the genus Parsley of the Umbelliferae family. It is smooth and native to the Mediterranean region. It has a long history of cultivation in Europe and can be found all over the world. Researchers at the University of Missouri in the United States found that there is a natural substance apigenin in parsley and coriander, which can be useful and non-toxic for breast cancer. In animal experiments, apigenin reduced breast cancer tumors caused by progesterone, a synthetic hormone used to relieve symptoms of menopause in women.
