The periwinkle extract is a commonly used Chinese traditional medicine with high medicinal value. It is a perennial herb with a plant height of 20-60cm. Its rhizome is thick and short, lignified, dark brown. Its stem is upright, ribbed, hairless, and usually has no basal leaves. Epimedium is a kind of temperate and subtropical medicinal plant with large ecological range.

Periwinkle extract is pungent and sweet in taste, warm in nature, belongs to liver and kidney meridians, light in body, vigorous in Qi, and can rise or fall. It has the effects of Tonifying the kidney, invigorating yang, dispelling wind and dehumidification, and strengthening muscles and bones. It can also be used for impotence due to kidney deficiency, premature ejaculation due to spermatorrhea, flaccid waist and knees, cold and chilly limbs.
