Sodium copper chlorophyllin, is a kind of metalloporphyrin with high stability. It is dark green powder with strong coloring power and bright color. Its aqueous solution is blue-green clear liquid, and there is precipitation in the presence of calcium ions. When the pH value of its aqueous solution is less than 6, powdery precipitation appears at the bottom of the solution, which is due to the easy aggregation of sodium copper chlorophyllin molecules with planar spatial structure under acidic conditions. It can be produced by extracting chlorophyll from spinach or silkworm dung with acetone or ethanol, adding an appropriate amount of copper sulfate and replacing the magnesium atom in the chlorophyll porphyrin ring with copper. Sodium copper chlorophyllin has been approved by relevant international health organizations for use in food. It is widely used in food additives, cosmetics additives, food colorants, drugs and other fields.

Sodium Copper Chlorophyllin takes the leaves of natural green plant tissues, such as silkworm and other plants as raw materials, extracts them with organic solvents such as acetone, methanol, ethanol and petroleum ether, replaces the central magnesium ion of chlorophyll with copper ion, saponifies them with alkali, and the carboxyl group formed after removing methyl group and phytoalcohol group becomes disodium salt.

• For textiles:

There are few natural dyes that can dye green, and sodium copper chlorophyllin is a food grade green pigment and a natural chlorophyll derivative. It can be made by saponification, copper reaction and refining of the extracted chlorophyll. It is a kind of metalloporphyrin with high stability, dark green powder and slightly metallic luster.

• For cosmetics:

Sodium copper chlorophyllin is dark green powder, odorless or slightly smelly. The aqueous solution is transparent emerald green, which deepens with the increase of concentration. In view of its stability and low toxicity, sodium copper chlorophyllin is widely used in cosmetics industry.

• Medical application:

Sodium copper chlorophyllin has the function of scavenging free radicals. It is considered to be added to the cigarette filter to eliminate various free radicals in the smoke, so as to reduce the harm to human body. It is used as an air freshener in daily life and clinic, especially in anti-cancer and anti-tumor research.
